Falkirk sign striker Enoch Showunmi from Leeds
Falkirk have agreed to sign Enoch Showunmi after the striker had his contract terminated by Leeds United by mutual consent. The 27-year-old will join the Scottish Premier Leagues bottom side once international clearance arrives.
The London-born Nigerian international stands at 6ft 5in.
And Bairns manager Eddie May told the club website: "He is a massive presence in physique but he has much more than that to his game. "
Showunmi, who played twice for Nigeria in 2004, missed much of last season with a blood clot on his lung and has made only 12 appearances this term.
United manager Simon Grayson told his club website: "Enoch needs to play regular football and hopefully this will enable him to do so.
"He was very unfortunate last season, but opportunities have been limited for him this season. "
Showunmi made his senior breakthrough with Luton Town before spending two years with Bristol City during which he had a loan spell with Sheffield Wednesday.
He joined League One outfit Leeds in 2008 and made only 28 appearances, scoring six goals, hitting the net for the last time in his final start in a Carling Cup victory over Darlington in August.
However, he has been prolific scorer for the clubs reserves.
